I.G. Headquarters - - "The Gadgetbar Toolbar"
- Version: 4.5.156.0 (for IE 5+)ID: UN20061012023507751CTID: CT472223
Before we begin, just a reminder that there are FREE SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS near the bottom of this page...
The second most important thing you should know before even thinking
about installing a program on your computer is whether or not your
computer has been properly maintained. It is very important to read the
section on "THE FRUSTRATIONS OF THE INSTALLATION / UNINSTALLATION OF "ANY" SOFTWARE PROGRAM:".
This section is located near the bottom of our home page. It helps you
understand that whever you install or uninstall a program from your
computer - and all of the sudden, your computer has problems... That
it's not always a good idea to blame the problem on the software. It's
hard to believe sometimes, but the errors have little to do with the
programs and more to do with our own human errors, mistakes and lack of
proper maintenance. Please
read that section and be fully aware of the possibilities that may
occur whenever you install or uninstall ANY SOFTWARE PROGRAM FROM
ANYWHERE. As for our software toolbar, The Gadgetbar - The Gadgetbar is
a very unique but very powerful toolbar program which is built to work
in conjunction with Internet Explorer versions 5 and newer and Firefox
1.0.1 and newer. It also offers you the opportunity to "switch" between
the use of the Gadgetbar and any other toolbar that I.G. Headquarters
creates without having to install the additional toolbars... Only one
toolbar will be seen at a time (Whichever toolbar you wish to use at
the moment) to minimize the amount of space used within your browser
window. If you wish to have multiple "I.G. Headquarters Toolbars"
available to you and accessible to you all at the same time, simply install them all individually
and you may have them all seen and used all at once at your choosing.
Installing multiple individual toolbars naturally takes up more browser
space with each added toolbar, but you are in control. Which is what
makes the first option too appealing... We at I.G. Headquarters (A.K.A.
Inspector Gadget Headquarters, LOL) are committed to the TOTAL privacy
and security of our users. Our software is completely safe to install and use. It's
free, with no spyware or viruses, does not open pop-ups, pop-unders,
pop-overs or pop-ups of ANY kind. It will never hijack your searches,
and cannot access any of your personal information.
NO PERSONAL INFORMATION is ever
required, so therefore - you know that you can protect yourself from
anyone who might "pretend" to be the publisher or "pretend" to be
affiliated with our company if they ever try to ask you for personal
information. You will KNOW FOR CERTAIN that such a person would
definitely be an impostor and thus can protect yourself from those
kinds of people. Gadgetbar offers
it's users access to EXTREMELY POWERFUL computer scans, safe -
automated (And manual) PC fixes, solutions, results, tests and
diagnostics for nearly every situation available to find (Or help you
find) and repair or report any problems with your PC. Each scan, test or diagnostic will never begin unless you click on it for authorization.
Discover many types of computer issues and resolve them automatically
or manually. Gadgetbar offers you many opportunities to "teach"
yourself to be a more experienced computer user - even giving you
access to special tips, tricks and computer commands that can make your
computer stronger, more powerful and faster than ever. Gadgetbar is a
great addition to any computer! In addition to the scans, tests &
diagnostics, Gadgetbar also offers you relief from the sometimes
stressful issues that arise with fixing computer problems by giving you
access to funny, unusual, strange and even brand new places of the
internet that you had never been to before and never knew was there or
even available. You can even find relief from stress with the
INCREDIBLE DATABASE of FREE TV & MOVIES that are available online
to view or download to keep and even burn to CD or DVD!
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN USE GADGETBAR TO TRACK ATTACKS ON YOUR PC?
Certainly! Track it down to the source from where the attack originated
with the DEEP SITE ANALYZER. Gadgetbar also gives you access to places
where you can report these kinds of attacks online and even offers
access to numerous places on the internet where you can contact the
proper authorities for nearly ANY illegal online or illegal computer
activity or situation through the INFO / FAQs Menu. If someone troubles
you on the internet, Gadgetbar even gives you access to where you can
report the trouble to the person's Internet Service Provider. If the
situation is serious enough - you can even have their computer and
online privileges suspended! Gadgetbar gives you information on how to
protect children online from criminals (Protection for yourself too).
The options and "gadgets" that Gadgetbar offers you is far greater than
we can mention in a mere paragraph or two - Give Gadgetbar a TEST DRIVE

can control what parts of Gadgetbar you want to be able to see and use.

understanding - giving you the finest assistance possible! Use
Gadgetbar's "INFINITY BUTTON" to randomly find websites on the internet
that you never knew were there! Find a website that you liked? GREAT!
Save it to your favorites folder within your browser to visit as often
as you like. Gadgetbar uses "GOOGLE" as it's default search engine, yet
Gadgetbar offers many other types of searches for nearly anything you
might want to search for on the internet! Gadgetbar offers you the
option to surf the internet ANONYMOUSLY - never seen by others or by
any website that might wish to track their visitor's activities.
Gadgetbar
even offers you an ENCRYPTED CHAT ROOM so that EACH AND EVERY ONE OF
YOUR CHATS WITH FRIENDS, FAMILY, ETC... ARE SAFE AND SECURE. Gadgetbar
even offers you access to good, better and even the BEST E-cards on the
net! Access to the "White Pages" and "Yellow Pages" for a phone number
you're seeking or address you wish to look up. Upon finding such
address, Gadgetbar offers you the opportunity to VIEW THOSE ADDRESSES
BY SATELLITE IN REAL TIME with satellite and even hybrid map programs.
Need directions? Use the map programs to plot your driving route to and
from your destination - then print it out and take it with you! Just
for fun, you can even use the satellite link to zoom in on your own
home so closely that you can easily see your own car in the driveway or
even see your mailbox sitting at the edge of the road or street you
live on! Gadgetbar even gives you access to a new service called
"Grouping". Grouping is a means for you to use the Gadgetbar toolbar
(Made by I.G. Headquarters), yet have INSTANT ACCESS to ANY other
toolbars made by I.G. Headquarters without having to download an extra
toolbar! This special service let's you see only one toolbar at a time
- keeping your browser free of clutter... However, you may (if you so
wish) download any of Gadgetbar's additional toolbars if you wish to
see them and use them all simultaneously. As you can see - Gadgetbar
can be used in quite a variety of ways... Serious purposes in which to
automatically or manually fix and repair PC issues, visit fun and
unusual sites on the net, watch nearly any movie or tv show (Even catch
a missed episode of your favorite show). Be it for work or for play or
for entertainment - Gadgetbar makes a fine addition to your PC!
The Gadgetbar is unobtrusive, easy to deactivate and remove, and does not transmit any of your information in a manner that can identify you or your computer and Gadgetbar will never report or keep track of your internet hobbies and activities. Most importantly, our software does only what it's supposed to do
- help you search and surf more effectively and to help you fix,
diagnose or even learn to repair you computer, network and internet
connection. Gadgetbar has on more than one occasion, been awarded 5
stars by numerous software websites - not to mention by our users. As
of 10/17/06, the Gadgetbar Toolbar has accumulated over 71,000 users!
As of 8/23/07, Gadgetbar has accumulated over 400,000 users!
Use the "INFINITY
BUTTON" to randomly access websites across the internet (Works
completely at random - no websites have been 'programmed' in any
specific order). Upon arriving at a website you like, be sure to save
it or add it to your favorites!!!! The "INFINITY BUTTON" is a great way
to explore the internet!!!! However, because the "INFINITY BUTTON"
works at random, we cannot be held responsible for the sites it brings
you to (Yes, that is unfortunate - but there is good news...). Should
the "INFINITY BUTTON" bring you to a website you do not care to visit,
you may simply click it again and it will take you elsewhere. If you
choose to make use of the "Rating System", you may rate any website you
visit through the Infinity Button with a low or high rating (Depending
on how you like the site it brings you to). "IF" you choose to give a
site you 'don't like' a low rating, then the less chance you will see
it again. The higher that you rate it, the better the chances for you
to see it again (But yet it's still rare - because the website is
virtually never ending!). You'll most likely see different sites most
of the time anyway.
The rating system is much easier and quicker than you think - no, you don't have to stop and fill any long forms... There is a small bar that goes across the top of the browser window. That bar has the rating system (Which is just 5 little stars) on the left most side of the bar. Simply click a star 1 - 5 and that's it. You have now rated the site!
If you like a website that you have not seen through the infinity button - you may "submit" your favorite site(s) to the infinity button (As many different sites as many times as you wish.). Once a website has been submitted it cannot be resubmitted as a duplication. Instead, resubmitting a website to the infinity button will merely "overwrite" the former submission. This way, people with bad intentions cannot abuse it with duplicates and those with good intentions cannot add what's already been added. The more you use the rating system, the less people with bad intentions will be able to submit sites that are not worthy of our attention. The more a site continues to receive a low rating, it will eventually be recognized as "unwanted" and will be removed.
The Gadgetbar originates from a Christian based business and the hundreds of thousands of Gadgetbar's users we've met, heard from and assisted are worthy and respectable people. Therefore, the sites that get rated and submitted are under a more 'controlled' environment, making it more of a pleasant experience. Furthermore, the software staff creators of the Gadgetbar have the ability to 'edit' submitted sites as we make updates from time to time. It's sad to live in a world where some seem to try to 'spoil' the experiences for everyone else - but as was said earlier - the greater number of Gadgetbar users are worthy and respectable people.
Just to the right of the rating system is an option to "email" the site you found through the infinity button. Simply click on the "Email this site" and type where you want it to go - and off it goes! Instead of clicking the infinity button for another random site - you have a second option of clicking the "Next random site", which is the next option just right of the website emailing function. The next option after that is the option to click on the "G" - for allowing Google to find similar pages! The next option is a little heart to click on for bookmarking the website you like. The last and final option is the "suggest a site" option, to enter your favorite places to go - submitting your favorite site to the INFINITY BUTTON DATABASE! Once you've submitted a website and it is approved, EVERYONE will be able to share your discovery!
THIS & MANY USEFUL FUNCTIONS/GADGETS TO EXPLORE ON THE GADGETBAR!!!!!!!!
Although the "fully optioned" and complete Gadgetbar was originally designed for 19 - 21 inch monitors or larger, we have installed a function giving you the ability to 'shrink' or 'unshrink' the Gadgetbar. The shrinking option merely removes the worded descriptions that are typed next to each icon. You may still "point" to an icon to have a small identification window pop up to describe the icon and it's menu. In addition to this, should you desire to display less gadgets for use on the Gadgetbar - simply enter the 'toolbar options' section and remove any function you wish by simply removing the check-mark from the box of any gadget you do not wish to display. This includes the 'separator bars' between each menu.
If
at any time you wish to restore any gadget functions, just return to
toolbar options and replace the check-mark on the item(s) you wish.
This will resize the Gadgetbar to fit virtually any monitor window! If
you click directly onto the Blue Box logo with the name "Gadgetbar", it
will immediately transport you right here to the I.G. Headquarter's website
where you can surf ideas for building a website of your own or even
gather technical info and tips on maintaining your computer and much
more...

Here's some installation help for those finding some difficulty customizing the Gadgetbar:
After installing the gadgetbar, it will most likely be in it's maximum position... Stretched out with labels going right off the edge of your screen (Unless you have a large monitor). Click on the menu arrow to the right of the logo and choose "Shrink Toolbar". This will make it more manageable. In the shrink position, you can point to any menu and a small pop-up window tells you info what you're pointing at. If the toolbar is still not short enough to fit your screen - go through the same procedure, but click on "Toolbar options". A window will appear - showing the "Personal Components Tab". There, you may start by choosing whether or not you wish to keep the three options shown (Email notification, Popup Blocker and Weather Forecaster). Once done, click on the next tab - "Predefined Components".
Here is the long list of menu's containing the links from protecting your PC to watching TV. Depending on the size of your monitor, choose the menu's you wish to have visible for use. The "Alternate Options" tab is for smaller monitors as it contains various repeat links and choices that are already in other places of the Gadgetbar. If you wish, you may even remove all the separators in order to fit more menu's.
The 3rd tab - "Useful Components" contain many windows features such as 'Outlook Express', 'Microsoft Paint', 'Windows Media Player', 'Windows Calculator' and more. If you have Microsoft Office products on your computer, then shortcuts such as 'Microsoft Word', 'Excel', 'Powerpoint', 'Office Shortcuts Menu' and more will also become available. Once you have decided - you may even click on the menu arrow next to the logo again and choose the "Shrink Toolbar" option. This eliminates the text that identifies each menu item for more room.
However, by merely pointing to a menu item will give you a small, brief window describing the menu name and contents. The biggest issue that some have trouble figuring out is how to configure the email to notify you when you get mail. Yahoo accounts and Hotmail accounts are the easiest to configure. Simply your id and password and it sets up quite nicely. But.... If you have a POP account, you can run into not knowing what to do. After you type your address and password and name - many do not know their incoming mail server information. Many server information answers are similar to one another.
For instance, if you have an email from (We'll use the imaginary email provider [a.k.a. server] name "techmail". Say your address is
joesmith@techmail.com. Then in many cases, you might simply use this as server information: mail.techmail.com or smtp.techmail.com. As
far as the port information is concerned, whatever is automatically
filled in is usually what works. If nothing is filled in for the port
information, then type in 110. Now each time you add an email
account to the Gadgetbar, make sure you "test it" by clicking the "Test
email account" box. If you are still having trouble and your accounts
are failing the test - make sure you have the latest version of the
Gadgetbar. THIS MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! If you can't figure out how to make it work - contact us and we will assist you.
When clicking on the menu arrow, just right of the logo, the link for Gadgetbar updates is located approximately the 6th link down. HOWEVER...... Should you EVER SEE a second link for updating the Gadgetbar (It should probably just say "Update" or "Upgrade"), then you DEFINITELY have an older version and require an update. Now, if you're still having email notification issues even with the current version and the server info above did not help, then you must contact your email provider and ask them for that information. Some providers like to be a pain in the neck by making their server info different from everyone else's.
Once you've completed this, take note that you can even use "custom" email notification sounds when you get email. When clicking on email settings you have a choice of the default sound or your own. Wav files and sound bytes are free all over the internet. Surely you can find something to tickle your fancy
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SEARCH ENGINE:
Whoops!!!! What do you mean "choose"??? Gadgetbar now only has "ONE"
true search engine. Google. Gadgetbar Used to have over 2 dozen search
engines of all types and kinds for your searching pleasure. However,
the creators of the actual software "code" which is used to "build" the
"general" toolbar shape and configuration - is Conduit, Inc.. And
Conduit has decided that since they allow us to use their toolbar
building program for free, that the search engines that the Gadgetbar
used to use were in "competition" with the Conduit "default" search
engine (Google). And, well, Conduit, of course, doesn't like
competition, eh? WE JUST BUILT THE TOOLBAR TOO WELL, EH? Conduit
provides every publisher with a "blank" toolbar to start with - the
only things that Conduit makes as default options on the toolbar is the
default search engine (Google), the email notifier, the popup blocker,
radio and the highlighter. All the other Gadgets were created and added
by I.G. Headquarters.
We
understand that not being able to use all the former cool search
engines anymore is going to create "PROBLEMS" with some of our users
who prefer to use the more powerful meta search engines, so, we have a
solution... We "might" search for our own toolbar software and
re-create the Gadgetbar toolbar - but only if there is an overwhelming
request for us to do so!!! If you're happy with the way Gadgetbar
currently is - then we will stick with what we have. With our own
software, we could put into it whatever we please and whatever search
engines our customers want - and we will do so without anyone crying
over our shoulder that our toolbar has created too much competition for
them!!! So, faithful users - if you so desire, we can plunder the
internet for a REAL KICK-BUTT TOOLBAR that will make Conduit regret
making us remove the search engines. If they thought that our SEARCH
ENGINES were creating too much competition for them - imagine how they
would feel about "competition" if we got our own toolbar creation
software... If any of you have suggestions for what you would like to
see in a toolbar, feel free to use the current "contact" link on the
Gadgetbar toolbar to let us know. This way, we would not have to deal
with such restrictions and our users will actually get a toolbar with
search engines they REALLY LIKE!!!
BUT..... We will ONLY change to our own toolbar software if our users request it. After all, you can still access great meta search engines without having to have them installed into a toolbar. Gadgetbar - in the meantime must use search engines that are NOT in competition with GOOGLE. So, if you happen to see really unusual search engines in the Gadgetbar, you'll know why. On a lighter note - here is further information regarding Meta Search Engines. The Gadgetbar has had 25 "META SEARCH ENGINES". What is a "Meta Search Engine? A Meta Search Engine is a search engine that gives you not only the results that they, themselves are able to provide to you - but also the results of "OTHER" search engines as well. Then before you get the results of your search, this information is combined to eliminate duplicate results and then is listed in the order that best fits what you're looking for. This is most assuredly the best means of searching on the internet! But don't worry, it's not any slower or faster than using a single, solitary search engine like "Google".
WHY IS THIS BETTER?
Because Meta search engines use anywhere from 6 to 5,000 or more "OTHER" search engines to produce the results you seek. If you were to use "Google" to do a search, then the only results you're going to get are the results that "Google" found for you. Same goes with "Yahoo" or "AOL" or "MSN" or any other "single" search engine. Would you have only one person go out and find what you're looking for on the internet when you could have 5,000 people going out to look for it at no extra cost instead? Of course not! The more, the better. Better results, more exact results and more multiple correct results - all relating to your search.
"COPERNIC" is the very best meta-search engine because it uses the results of over 7,000 other popular search engines in addition to it's own results to give you the answers you look for. In full steam with the registered version, it uses more than 5,000 other search engines (Including other 'Meta Search Engines') in it's search for your results. The unregistered version uses 300 Meta Search Engines. No other meta search engine even comes close. Copernic is king.
Turbo 10 would normally be the next in line for Meta Search Engines, but Turbo 10 uses a format unlike any other - making it incompatible with toolbars, add-ons and other similar softwares. This makes Turbo 10 a time consumer. The time it takes to bring up a browser window and then go to the Turbo 10 site, set up your preferences, type a search and then wait for the results.... By that time, you've already gotten your results from Copernic through the Gadgetbar and are already onto your 3rd website result, making your purchase or whatever it is you were searching for. Turbo 10 is fine for people who can lounge about and take their time. But even then, Copernic is still king.
All modifications that I.G. Headquarters makes to the Gadgetbar will automatically appear. There is no need to re-download the program. At best, you may click on the menu arrow next to the logo and choose "refresh toolbar" to make sure you have the latest modifications. Modifications are made approximately once a month or every other month. These modifications may be noticeable or they may be a simple fix in punctuation. Feel free to report dead links or problems to either one of these two email addresses: ig.headquarters"at"yahoo.com or ig_headquarters"at"yahoo.com so that we may better serve you (For the email addresses, be sure to replace the "at" with the "@" symbol {But without the quotation marks} - apologies for the inconvenience, but this was done for enhanced security).
These next 3 images of the Gadgetbar are only "PARTIAL IMAGES" of the Gadgetbar. They are also shown without the optional text that you may choose to have or not to have posted next to each icon. In addition, not all of the icons and toolbar options are being shown. One of the reasons is to save page space, however, these also serve as sample screen image links for websites requesting screen shots where the Gadgetbar is submitted to. Some sites ask for GIF, JPEG or BMP images, therefore all are shown. And at the same time, you yourselves get the opportunity to see a sample of the Gadgetbar toolbar as well. Don't forget that you can add or delete whatever icons, separators, etc... that you do not like.

GADGETBAR INSTALLATION & UNINSTALLATION:CUSTOMIZIBLE - FITS EVERY SIZE SCREEN.
Right after installing the Gadgetbar - the reason the Gadgetbar is so big is to offer anything to everyone - but at the same time - offering you only what YOU want on the toolbar whenever you want it. We made the Gadgetbar extremely customizable so that it can fit every size screen there is - perfectly. Here is what you do:
Simply click on the menu arrow just right of the Gadgetbar logo and click "Toolbar Options". A window will appear. There will be three tabs to choose from; Personal Components, Predefined Components and Useful Components.
On the Personal Components tab, if there is anything you do not wish to have or see on the toolbar, simply click on the box in front of any particular component to remove the check mark. If you wish to replace that same item on the toolbar - again, simply click on the box to replace the check mark. Should you remove an item from the "Personal Components" tab, you may find that the 'separator bars' from any removed items will still show. Simply go to the Predefined Components tab to locate and remove the necessary separator bars that were for that item you had removed.
On the Predefined Components tab, if there is anything you do not wish to have or see on the toolbar, simply click on the box in front of any particular component to remove the check mark. If you wish to replace that same item on the toolbar - again, simply click on the box to replace the check mark. Do not forget to also remove any corresponding separator bars.
On the Useful Components tab, if there is anything you do not wish to have or see on the toolbar, simply click on the box in front of any particular component to remove the check mark. If you wish to replace that same item on the toolbar - again, simply click on the box to replace the check mark. Do not forget to also remove any corresponding separator bars.
Once you have completed any of the tasks above for removing or replacing an item from the toolbar, simply click "OK" and you're finished. Just in case your PC is using most resources and you don't see immediate results on the toolbar - try clicking on the menu arrow just right of the Gadgetbar logo and click "Refresh Toolbar". By offering these options, each and every single Gadgetbar user may fit the Gadgetbar toolbar to any size screen.
In
addition to these options, we also offer the opportunity to "Shrink the
Toolbar". To Shrink the toolbar, simply click on the menu arrow just
right of the Gadgetbar logo and click "Shrink Toolbar". This will
remove the fonts from the toolbar - allowing the user to add more icon
menus and options. But it's OK - if you point to any of the menus - a
small window will appear and describe what menu you are pointing to and
what it is for. So the fonts aren't really needed. If you have a really
big screen - having the fonts can be fun. Or Gadgetbar can be
customized so that only the menus that you use will show - in which
case you can keep the fonts anyway. The cool part is that the decision
of how to customize the toolbar is all up to you.
By simply pointing to any icon on the Gadgetbar toolbar, a small window will appear to inform you what icon you are pointing at and what it is for or where it will bring you to. By following these helpful tips, you can form and shape the Gadgetbar toolbar into what is most comfortable for you. Adding only the items you wish to add and deleting any items you wish to delete.

=====================================================================================================================================================================================================
VERY IMPORTANT INSTALLATION AND UNINSTALLATION INFORMATION: ALL SOFTWARE INSTALLATIONS LEAVE FILE PIECES & REGISTRY PIECES BEHIND WHEN THEY ARE UNINSTALLED................ So if you are using Spybot's "Tea Timer" program or Ad-Aware's PRO VERSION or any other type of registry scanning program - you are going to be annoyed some day when eventually all of these little "pieces" left over from all the installations and uninstallations of all the programs that you've ever installed on your PC finally cross paths........ It might happen after a Gadgetbar uninstallation or it may happen after ANY OTHER software uninstallation - but eventually IT WILL HAPPEN...... "IF" it should happen after uninstalling the Gadgetbar Toolbar or Net Detective Toolbar - this DOES NOT MEAN that "The Gadgetbar" caused this problem or that "The Net Detective Toolbar" caused this problem........................ Because this "problem" existed on your computer long before you installed any toolbar. Believe it or not - JUST INSTALLING A FRESH, BRAND NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS ON A BRAND NEW HARD DRIVE will leave A TON of little "broken files", "broken folders", "broken shortcuts", "registry pieces", "file & folder pieces", etc................ THAT'S REALLY WEIRD - ISN'T IT? If you ever get the chance - after installing a fresh version of windows, go to http://www.rosecitysoftware.com . Once there, buy the program called "Registry First Aid". This is one of the programs that we have listed as a "RECOMMEND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM" within the "Armor Links Menu" of the Gadgetbar Toolbar. After installing Registry First Aid, set the options and preferences the way you want them and run a registry scan. You will be surprised to find over 1,000 (over One Thousand) registry problems and issues..... AND THIS IS JUST FROM INSTALLING A FRESH VERSION OF WINDOWS!!!!!
So
if that's what it looks like after a fresh installation of windows -
then what kind of problems do you think are on your PC after many
installations and uninstallations of all the many software programs
that you put on your PC? WOW, eh? For some, there will be more
problems... For some, less..... But if you use ALL OF THE RECOMMENDED
MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS that are listed in Gadgetbar's "Armor Links Menu",
you can keep your PC running like new for a very, very, very long
time.... However, regardless of the fact that we suggest "Spybot Search
& Destroy" as one of the "recommended maintenance programs" - we
suggest "NOT" using "Tea Timer" unless you are a very experienced PC user who is continuously "testing" software programs.
Why? For a few reasons.... Because Tea Timer is a PC & registry
occurance "reporter" - not a PC & registry "fixer". If you want a
FREE program that will "REPORT & FIX" PC & registry issues - a
program that will do a better job than Tea Timer, then install Windows
Defender. You can get Windows Defender at: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
. Also, using the registered version of AdAware's "Adwatch" program
will work with Windows Defender, providing better results in reports
and cleaning "some" more registry problems. Ad-Aware's "Adwatch"
program does a much better job than Tea Timer. Also, Because the listed
recommended maintenance programs have their own registry scanners and
you do not want them clashing with one another. PLUS - Tea Timer will
annoy you with every little thing - even if it's unimportant. Besides,
Tea Timer cannot fix it - just report it. Registry First Aid is what
fixes it. File or folder or registry pieces from these formerly
installed programs that clash with one another create problems.....
These little pieces left over from all of your former installation /
uninstallations need to be dealt with before they become serious. Take
care of them before it's too late. The Free Version of Registry First
Aid will allow some repairs - but eventually the program will no longer
repair until you purchase it.
We tested 47 different registry repair programs (Which is just one of the many functions that I.G. Headquarters does) and Registry First Aid turned out to produce the best results. The last thing we suggest for removing registry pieces - and this should really only be done by experienced PC users - is by using "Windows Registry Edit". By clicking on "start", then click on "run". In the blank line, type the word "regedit" (But without the quotation marks). The Windows registry editor will come up. If you have the full name of the registry location, you can surf through it the same way you surf through folders - then right click on the bad file and delete it. If you only have the name of the bad file - then on the Registry Edit window, in the upper left hand corner, click on "edit", then click on "find". When the "Find What" window opens, type the name of the file you want deleted and let it search for it. You may have to use that same name to use with the "find" feature several times as it will most likely locate more than one pathway that has something to do with that file. You may find yourself deleting 3, 7 or even more pathways having to do with just one file name within the registry. But again, we highly suggest you not mess with this unless you are very experienced.
The I.G. Headquarters team has been repairing, building, fixing PC's and helping people for many years - and we do not mind at all helping anyone who wishes to acquire our assistance. We are more than happy to help. Remember; if you're having problems with your PC immediately before, during or after the installation of any PC program - it does not always really mean that the fault lies within that particular program.... It could very well be the built up pieces of files and registry parts left over from all software installations and uninstallations. You should not feel the need to "blame" any particular program for the problems you experience unless it is verified by a licensed and bonded, experienced professional.
It is very important that one actually read and look at the installation progress of ANY program. Don't just click and let the installation windows go by.... When a software program is complete - it is very important to check the options, preferences and settings of any program - or you may find that it may produce an undesirable result. Especially to examine these options, settings and preferences immediately following an installation and especially BEFORE any uninstallation of ANY program. It is important that you know that ALL SOFTWARE (Including the installation of Windows) leaves behind pieces of files or registry. There is no such thing as a software program that completely deletes itself from a PC after uninstallation. Therefore, from the first time you pulled your PC out of the box and turned it on - all the way until now, it has merely been only a matter of time before one or more of these file and registry "pieces" from each and every software program that you (Or anyone else that used your PC) have ever installed or uninstalled from your PC finally crosses one another in a way that produces a bad result.
People just do not realize that even with a fresh, brand new install of Windows - with NOTHING ELSE INSTALLED BUT WINDOWS..... That there are literally hundreds and even thousands of broken and problematic file pieces and registry pieces drifting around their hard drive. This is why The Gadgetbar Toolbar gives a complete list of "Recommended PC Maintenance Softwares" within the "Armor Links Menu" so that everyone may enjoy a computer that stays running like brand new - but WITHOUT all the broken, problematic file & registry pieces.
And you can keep your computer running like that almost forever if it is well taken care of and the maintenance programs are used regularly.
NEVER
USE A SOFTWARE PROGRAM TO UNINSTALL ANOTHER PROGRAM. Always use the
"Add/Remove" Programs within the control panel of your computer. If you
have Vista - then you need to use the "Programs & Features" to
uninstall a program (Also found in the control panel). Uninstalling a
software program in any other way can cause serious problems on your
computer. If a program simply will not uninstall - then do what you
must, but seek professional help first. Then you must have a "Registry
Repair Program" & a "Systems Cleaning Program" to fix whatever is
left over. The best and most recommended "Systems Cleaning Program" is
Pointstone's "System Cleaner 5.55c", which can be found at http://www.pointstone.com/download/
To uninstall the old version of Gadgetbar:
Before uninstallation - go through all of the settings, options and preferences to make certain that your PC returns to it's former state before Gadgetbar was installed. Do not forget that it is a natural function for Windows to record and log data from installed programs. THIS GOES FOR ANY PROGRAM - NOT JUST GADGETBAR. Which means that Windows automatically alters your registry information data. You should be prepared with a Registry Repair Program like "Registry First Aid - to erase all former data. Then, a Systems Cleaning Program like Pointstone's "System Cleaner 5.55c" to make certain there are no broken short cuts or file pieces. System Cleaner also comes with a registry cleaning program - but not as powerful as Registry First Aid. With these two programs, you can pretty m uch remove all data that remains from ANY software installation. The old version of the Gadgetbar would be listed as "Inspector Gadgets" or "Inspector Gadgets Toolbar" in the Add/Remove Programs area of the Control Panel. Assuming you're using Win XP - Just click on 'start', then 'Control Panel', then 'Add/Remove Programs'. Scroll through the list, highlight "Inspector Gadgets" and click "remove" or “uninstall”. This will remove the old toolbar. To some people, this may seem like overkill to uninstall a program. But look at it this way: Computers are expensive. So like a home owner or a car owner - you take care of your home by dusting, vacuuming and performing any necessary home repairs - you take your car in for tune-ups, oil changes, wash and wax it. If you don't do these things, then your house and car will eventually break down and lose their value.... Same goes for a computer! Well - if you have a computer - then you should also have computer maintenance programs. But there are so many facets of a computer that you need programs for every area of a PC. Gadgetbar lists all the necessary recommended computer programs that you would need to keep your PC in proper shape. You can find it within Gadgetbar's "Armor Links Menu".
Not
everyone can afford all of those recommended maintenance programs (Even
though many of them are for free). This is one of the many reasons why
Gadgetbar was created. With Gadgetbar - you have access to use the
Registry Repair Programs, System Cleaner Programs, Spyware Removal
Programs, Virus Removal Programs and more - free of charge. Some may
detect while others detect and remove. The trick is to be clever.....
For instance, use the "Driver Scanner" to scan your PC for any needed
or updated drivers. But the driver scanners will only "tell" you what
you need... You have to pay for the program to get the drivers. So -
use Gadgetbar's "Drivers & More Menu" to find the drivers you
require for free. If Norton Antivirus will only scan and report, then
take your report and go to another link where they can be removed for
free. If you're good with the PC - you can take the info from your
report and search your PC and delete them manually. The most clever
minds are the ones that can put Gadgetbar to better use.... Accomplish
what you need or require for free. You can do it - just look around and
use the toolbar to your advantage.

a short note: the new version of the Gadgetbar gives the ability to
access full length feature movies, music videos and other favorites at
the click of your mouse. In all cases, the minimum requirements to
access such great TV and Movie opportunities is simply to have Windows
Media Player and / or Real Player (Free versions of both with suffice –
no need to purchase) and / or Internet Explorer or Firefox Browser. May
you enjoy the great entertainment we’ve sent your way through the use
of the Gadgetbar Toolbar!
In
addition, Gadgetbar has recently added ABC, NBC & CBS TV as well as
many other popular channels, shows and movies. Stargate SG-1, Seinfeld,
Heroes, Mission Impossible 3, LOST, Survivor, 24, Battlestar Galactica,
Eureka, Everybody Loves Raymond, etc… and even old TV shows like Chico
and the man, Wonder Woman, Gilligan’s Island, Kung Fu, and Welcome back
Kotter, etc… are available. There are far too many TV shows and movies
to mention.
MTV,
Viva la bam, Jackass, etc… and every music video are also available. In
addition, nearly every free online computer scan and free downloadable
computer diagnostic program is available as well. If Gadgetbar seems
difficult to understand or hard to use or if you can’t seem to use it
effectively enough to help your PC – don’t be afraid to write us or
visit the website for information and help. Gadgetbar is surprisingly
more helpful than you may be aware of.
Through Gadgetbar, you can also set up your PC to be protected with an “Attack Tracking” system – alerting you to attackers who are affecting your PC and giving you the IP address location and information where they are from. Gadgetbar then also gives you the opportunity to choose which local, state or government facility to report it to for your protection, offering you EZ forms, email addresses and phone numbers to report any actions taken against you.
P.S.
If your reasons for uninstalling the Gadgetbar are related to not being
able to “FIT” the bar on your screen or because of any inability to
operate it properly, please let us help you! You can contact us through the toolbar or this website where very
detailed help is available to assist you in finding an easy remedy to
these and many other problems. Once there, click on "CONTACT US"

Liking it all so far?
We hope so. Many of these programs we use on our own computers because
of the value, power and assistance they bring. Our toolbar, The
Gadgetbar Toolbar is a fine example of providing perfectly good, useful
programs for use on your PC. It's
truly incredible when we hear ridiculous reasons such as "The Menu
Lists are too long" within the Gadgetbar as a reason for not
downloading it. Why do we think that is a rediculous reason? Two ways: First of all, Gadgetbar is so customizeable that you can choose to remove nearly any part of the toolbar you do not wish to see or use...... Secondly, nearly
everyone here in the United States has at least a dictionary or set of
encyclopedias within their home - correct? How many times have you read
the entire dictionary/encyclopedia book or entire set of encyclopedia
books? A bit silly, eh? Although there are a few who may find reading
an entire set of encyclopedias interesting, most people just get the volume
they need, look up the item they want and read the necessary sentences
or paragraphs that help them. Same goes for a dictionary. You want to
know the meaning of a word - you don't read the whole book. You look up
the word and it's meaning and you're done! THAT'S THE SAME WAY THE
GADGETBAR WORKS. Like all software programs, you can familiarize
yourself with it by browsing through it and learning it's abilities and
options. When you want to go to scan your PC for viruses for free - are you going to go through all of Gadgetbar's menus and links to do it? No.... Or are you going to
click on the "Virus Scan / Fix Menu" and click on the scan you want? OF COURSE!!!!!
We stocked
the Gadgetbar with tons of links to softwares so that you would not
have to spend hours on the internet searching for the right program to
fix or diagnose your computer. We put all of the important, most likely
to be used links up front and the least likely to be used or very
rarely required links towards the back. This way, if you run into a
rare problem on your PC, what you'll need to fix it is in the back. Run
into a common problem? You'll find what you need towards the front of a
menu. Hey - we're not knocking the idea to roam a program... By all
means, if you would like to explore Gadgetbar, please feel free to do
so! Get as familiar with it as you like! Go through each and every menu
as often as you want! But to complain you don't want it because the
menus are too long? Oh Please..... There are approximately 20 - 30
links per menu (This includes any additional sub-menus that drop down
or up at the end of each menu you click on). NEVER ANY MORE THAN THAT.
Nine times out of ten, what you would probably want to use most of the
time is found within the 1st sub-menu... Which means you're going to
get what you need 9 times out of ten with ONE CLICK.
When
you are experiencing more serious computer issues, you will most likely
search into the 2nd sub-menu or further, depending on what you require
or what you find that solves or provides your solution. CLICK HERE FOR A REVIEW OF GADGETBAR AT 3D2F.COM.

Do you have "Spyware" on your system? Parasites or an Unwanted Search Engine? Don't panic -- this is a learning experience on how some of these so-called friendly companies treat you as a valued customer! Many of us are totally amazed (including myself) at just how sneaky and underhanded some of these companies are.
What is Spyware? A technology that assists in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge. On the Internet, "spyware is programming that is put in someone's computer to secretly gather information about the user and relay it to advertisers or other interested parties." In some cases even after these programs have been removed from your system. As such, Spyware and or Malware is cause for public concern about privacy on the Internet. These type applications also in many cases can cause unknown browser problems.
How did this happen?
When your Security settings are "soft" these sites take advantage of this and actually install software on your system without your knowledge or consent. In other cases downloaded software comes bundled with other "components" (spyware-adware) that you don't realize exists until you start having problems or discover your browser has been hijacked.
Recommended Minimal Security Settings
In most cases the "default" settings are not enough to properly protect your machine. In other cases, the new rash of Trojans will actually lower your Security settings for the "Internet Zone", thus bypassing any security you thought you had. To reset your machine to the Default Level: Close all instances of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Enter Control Panel Internet Options Click on the "Security" tab. Highlight the "Internet" icon, click "Default Level". To setup the "Internet and Restricted Zones" with a Custom Level (recommended):
Next: Click on the "Content" tab, Click the "Publishers" button. Highlight and click "Remove" any unknowns, click Ok. Click on the "Advanced" tab. Uncheck: "Install on demand (other)", click Apply-Ok.
How To: Prevent this from happening again?
The first thing you must remember is that adware-spyware tools are basically for removal after the fact. The trick is "Layered Protection for maximum prevention"!
1) Use a HOSTS file and keep it updated!
2) Make use of the Internet Explorer Restricted Zone
3) Install a firewall (see - Security Issues)
4) Install an Antivirus program (see - Security Issues)
5) Add a Startup Monitor (freeware) to protect your system.
6) Improving the security of your computer (Link to Microsoft Security Essentials)
7) Add Spyware Blaster to your "Layered Protection" (Link to Spyware Blaster Download)
Beware of Impostors - before you use, install or purchase an "Anti-Spyware" product

Visiting the Spyware Info Forum or one of the other recommended Forums, to finish cleaning up your system is highly recommended. As none of these "Anti-Spyware" scanners can no longer completely remove these pests. This is mainly due to new daily threats and the use of random generated filenames used by these parasites! |

Editors Note: there are now nearly 10,000 Coolwebsearch affiliates!
They do this as a "Pay-per-Click" scheme, basically getting a few cents for each user that gets hijacked to Coolwebsearch or one of it's major affiliates. Nice guys huh? Most of these affiliates are Adult related, so be careful where you surf and practice Safe Hex!
Additional Prevention
Both the HOSTS file and the Restricted Zone entries target most of the major parasites, hijackers and unwanted search engines. If you are also having trouble with unwanted pop-ups - There are however several severe security risks that still exist in Internet Explorer. Until Microsoft releases a (hot fix) patch, users can protect themselves by taking several other steps.

OUR DOWNLOADS SECTION
Pretty Cool Downloads!!!
These are downloads we've found across the internet that we thought you may find interesting...
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
OK! What should we start with next? How about... Zip software. Why? Because much of what we all have access to is either in "zip" format or must be put into "zip" format in order to make the downloads smaller, quicker and easier (Hey - some of you people are still using Dial-up, so we gotta try to be as sensitive as possible towards other people's situations). Here are a variety of zip programs:
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Quick Zip 4.60.014 - Quickzip does not have menus, but it is compatible with all WinZip and PKZip programs. It is ideal for users wanting to get a file zipped and sent in one action. Quickzip uses the Press Bar technique for all commands. It also incorporates a graphic viewing facility, which makes it ideal for users of digital cameras, scanners, and other picture-generating products. Quickzip also invites you to add comments to each ZIP file prior to sending so that other people can read these comments before opening the ZIP file.
JustZipIt 102 - JustZipIt simplifies Zip compression to the bare bones. This award-winning, free Zip tool discards all clunky interfaces entirely. JustZipIt simply compresses any folder into a Zip file or decompresses any Zip file into a folder--all with one click on the context menu. No more interface nonsense--JustZipIt and go.
